LUIS CASTAÑEDA

Biography

I'm a multimedia journalist who recently graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, where I majored in journalism and political science. My work focuses on technology, public health, politics and marginalized communities.

I'm originally from Ocala, Florida, but I've reported from across the world. I've covered Capitol Hill with Medill News Service, Chicago's queer community for Windy City Times and completed a three-month journalism residency at Agencia Presentes in Buenos Aires, where I produced a vertical video series on trans women's experiences during Argentina's military dictatorship. I'm fluent in English and Spanish.

I'm currently at ABC News on the Nightline production team in New York. I'm interested in how news will adapt for Gen-Z audiences, social media and artificial intelligence tools.
